A few days ago neutrality.ca, which housed an online campaign to fight for an Internet that is not controlled by the big telcos, removed its site and put up this message “Due to increasing legal concerns resulting from our public participation in the Net Neutrality debate,
we have at this time decided to shut down the operation of these sites.”
I don’t know all of the details, but I do know from some email strings going back and forth that someone is hoping to get neutrality.ca back up and running despite the legal issues that faced neutrality.ca’s owner Kevin McArthur.
I started a Facebook group a few weeks ago called Canadians for Net Neutrality, but any Facebook member anywhere can join so please sign up if you want to learn more about the net neutrality debate.
I will update my site when I know more about the new neutrality.ca and who is behind it; for now, I want to thank Kevin for all of his hard work and one day we should know the whole story behind the legal pressure he faced. For now, take a look at the cached version of neutrality.ca and a letter he posted before shutting it down.

I’ve made a lot of friends and a slight few enemy’s during this process and I sincerely hope that someone will continue to fight for Net Neutrality in Canada as hard as I have.
As of the 25th of april we [StormTide] will divest ourselves of the neutrality.ca netneutrality.ca and kevin-mcarthur.com domains to a party who can manage them responsibly, fight off the telecoms and stand up to their influence.
It’s been a good run, and I look forward to reading about the success of Net Neutrality in Canada.
Thank you
Kevin McArthur
